Important Dates ::

Application forms will be available on the University Website : www.rbu.ac.in only from 06.05.14 to 19.05.14 ( upto 5:00 p.m.).

The last date of submission of duly filled- in downloaded application form (hard copy) is 20.05.2014 (3:00 p.m).

1st Provisional Merit list of the candidates selected for admission and other details will be published on the University website on 11-06-2014 (after 4:00 pm).

Course Details & Eligibility/Qualification::

Course 1) : B. Ed. (1- year – NCTE Affiliated)

Eligibility :

• As per NCTE rules, candidates with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.

• Fresher candidates having break of studies for more than two years would not be eligible for admission.

• No break of studies for Deputed candidates.

• Deputed teachers applying for admission will have to be from the schools receiving grant-in-aid from the Govt.

• Deputed teacher applying for admission must attach the certificate with the application form from the school authority to the effect that he/she is teaching for class IX onwards as per Govt. order.

• Deputed teachers applying for admission will have to attach ‘No Objection Certificate’ issued by the school authority enclosing the resolution of the Managing Committee.

• Application form of the Deputed teachers failing to comply with the requirements mentioned at (d),(e) & (f) above will not be considered for admission.

Course 2) Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc), (1-year)

Eligibility : 

•  For Fresher candidate: Any person having Graduation with honours (10+2+3 pattern) or Master’s degree (with honours) or a technical degree (of the pattern 10+2+4 or 10+2+5) such as Engineering, Computer Application, Pharmacy, Law etc. of any other U.G.C recognized University or Institute.

• For deputed candidate - Graduation with honours and working experience as a full-time salaried staff in any Govt./ Govt. aided Libraries/recognized institution (Govt. or semi Govt.).

• For Certificate holders in Library Science: Graduation with honours with certificate in Library Science

• Fresher candidates having break of studies for more than two years would not be eligible for admission.

• No break of studies for Deputed candidates.

Scheme of Selection ::

Merit List will be Prepared for selection of candidates for admission. Candidates selected for admission and other details will be published on the University website on 11-06-2014 (after 4:00 pm).

Application Fee : Rs. 250/- Only

Payment Method : Demand Draft (DD) / Pay Order

How to Apply ::

For downloading the Application Form, it will be mandatory for the candidates to make proper entry of the requisite information in the prescribed spaces provided on the website. Please follow the under mentioned instructions to fill-in the application form online :
Before filling in, keep all the information required in this form ready.

1. Details of the demand draft are mandatory for downloading the application form. So draft must be prepared before filling in this form.
2. Demand draft/Pay order (non-refundable): For both courses : Rs.250/-
3. It is mandatory to attach the demand draft/pay order (non-refundable) drawn in favour of "Rabindra Bharati University", payable at Kolkata, with the downloaded application form as processing fee.
4. Students applying for both courses must apply separately alongwith separate demand draft for Rs. 250/- in the same manner as mentioned above.
5. Draft CANNOT be purchased from SBI, Rabindra Bharati University Campus Branch. This must be purchased from any other branch of SBI or any other bank drawn on Kolkata.
6. It is to be noted that the information entered in the prescribed places on the website will be reflected on the downloaded Application Form and the same information will be saved in the database for further processing of the form for admission. Candidates are advised to take special care to make correct entry only. Therefore, application forms with manual corrections will not be accepted.
7. Please enter genuine Mobile Phone Number for future communication regarding admission , if required. No fictitious information should be entered.
8. No application for change of information already reflected on the downloaded application form will be entertained.
9. Incomplete application form, if downloaded and submitted, will be treated as cancelled.
10. Duly filled-in downloaded application form should be signed by the candidate and his/her parent/guardian at the given spaces of the form.
11. The duly filled-in application form along with self-attested copies of all mark sheets, certificates and other relevant documents and demand draft, has to be submitted to the Office of the Secretary, Faculty Councils at 56A, B.T. Road, Kolkata - 700 050, in person (not by post) within 3:00 p.m. of 20-05-2014 positively (except Saturdays, Sundays & university holidays).
12. Applicants must preserve the acknowledgement receipt containing the Application Form No. for the future reference.
