Steps for Online Application for Admission to Post Graduate (PG) Course under Kalyani University

Please Read Carefully Before Proceeding Online Application

Step 1 : Registering on the Portal:

• Applicant visits home page of the Kalyani University Website & uses the link provided to access the Online portal for registration and application for PG courses.

• The candidate starts the registration process by clicking the “To Register Click Here link

• Applicant then fills in the demographic details which includes name, address category etc.

• A unique Login ID(Registration number) & password are created & details are displayed onscreen, SMS & e-mail alerts are also sent.

Step 2 : Filling up the Application form and Apply

• Applicant now logs in using the ID & Password and can change his/her password after login.

• Applicants can now fill in their academic details – 10+2, UG, PG (for M Tech Applicants only) stream , subjects and marks .

• Once the academic details are entered, applicant can use the "Enter Choice" option to choose the courses/colleges to apply.

• Each applicant is allowed 5 options to apply for relevant courses / colleges if applicable.

Step 3 : Depositing the Payment

• The applicant should click on "Generate Challan" to view and print the E-Challan generated for Rs. 370.00 + Rs. 40 as bank charges.

• Payment is made by the applicant at any SBI branch after the generation of the e-challan.

Step 4 : Submitting the Documents and Payment Details to the University

• The applicant would need to login to the Online application system and enter the unique "Journal number" and the payment date provided by the SBI on payment of the registration fee.

• On receipt of the journal number the system considers the Registration and candidature of the applicant as valid and considers him/her for all the downstream processes of the Merit lists and download of Admit cards for entrance examination.

Step 5 : Generation of Merit List for Kalyani University Graduates

• Merit list is generated for 60% of the students from own University

Step 6: Generation of Admit Card for Entrance Test

• Admit card for applicants who need to sit for entrance examinations are available for printing after generation of the Merit List

• The candidate downloads and prints the Admit Card.

• Attaches a self photograph.

• Signs the Admit card in the Examination hall before the University Officials

• Candidates must produce original photo Identity Card proof for verification at the time of the Test (Voter ID/College ID/Honours Admit Card/Driving License/PAN Card at the time of Admission Test.

Step 7 : Admission Test

Admission examinations are conducted by the University

Merit list for balance 40% students is published.

Step 8 : Counselling in the University

Original Documents to be produced at the time of Admission: 

• Proof of Age:
• Mark sheets of all examinations passed (starting from SF):
• SC/ST/OBC certificate, where necessary
• Character Certificate from the last Institution attended
• Printed Copy of the Downloaded Application of the candidate along with a passport size photograph
• Physically Challenged candidates are required to submit a certificate from a Civil Surgeon of a Govt. Hospital indicating the extent of visual/physical disability and also the extent to which the disability hampers the candidate in pursuing her/his studies.
• Candidates seeking sports quota must furnish certificate/s in support of their claim.
