Kalyani University PG Admission 2015; Kalyani University invites Online Application for admission to various 2years Post-Graduate/Master's Courses under different faculties/Departments of University of Kalyani, Nadia, W.B and affiliated colleges.
Online and offline applications for admission to Post-Graduate/Master's Courses under the different Faculties/Departments of the University of Kalyani, Nadia District, West Bengal, are invited from eligible candidates for the Academic Session 2015-17. Last date for application is 12th August, 2015 till 5.00P.M.
I. Courses for Online Admission (2015-16)
II.Course for Offline Admission
For Offline Admission to Masters in Fine Arts (M.F.A.), prescribed form for application along with the Bank Challan can be downloaded from the University website (www.klyuniv.ac.in). Applicants shall have to make a payment of Rs. 400/- [Rs. 200/- for SC/ST] as application fee through Bank Challan to be deposited in any branch of SBI. Fee collection charge by the Bank is additional.
Application should be accompanied by the Challan Receipt copy (Second Copy) and self-attested copies of testimonials and two recent passport size photographs taken within six months (one pasted on the application form and the other pasted at the space provided in the Admit Card) along with Certificates and Mark sheets should reach the office of the Admission Section, University of Kalyani on or before, 12.08.2015. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
Eligibility Criteria:
I. Courses for Online Admission (2015-16)
For Courses with Subject Code 01-29, applicants should possess a three years Undergraduate Honours Degree following the 10+2+3 system with 45% marks in Honours/Major subject.
For Subject Code 30, applicants should have at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in Masters Degree in any school subject preceded by Honours Degree and at least 55% in B.Ed. or any equivalent degree from any Institution recognized by the University or NCTE.
II. Courses for Offline Admission
3. Candidates in the 40% & and applicants for courses without 60-40 division shall have to appear for Admission Test conducted by the Kalyani University.
4. The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the W.B. Govt. rules. For admission to different courses, an SC or ST candidate should have obtained in the previous examination; qualifying marks not lower by more than 25% of the marks obtained by the last candidate of the general category.. In case of OBC-A and OBC-B, the candidates getting admission should have obtained in the previous examination, qualifying marks not lower by more than 10% from the marks obtained by the last candidate of the general category.
In any case, if a candidate obtains marks lower than the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the University for admission to the relevant course, he will not be eligible for admission.
5.The minimum eligibility condition for admission to all Courses advertised by the University is 45% marks in the qualifying examination for all Categories including SC, ST and OBC. This eligibility condition does not apply for M.Ed Course.
Merit List Preparation Criteria:
i) Merit List for Subject Codes 01-29
a.) Merit List for 60% category ( Home University) will be based on marks obtained in the Honours subject ( Part 1+Part 2+Part 3) only. In case of tie, aggregate marks of best of five subjects, excluding Environmental Studies obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.
b.) Merit List for 40% ( Other University + Home University applicants who fail to get admission from the 60% merit list) & for Courses without 60-40 category, will be based on 50% marks obtained in the in the Honours subject ( Part 1+Part 2+Part 3) + 50% marks obtained in the Admission Test. In case of tie, aggregate marks of best of five subjects, excluding Environmental Studies obtained in Higher Secondary Examination, will be taken into consideration.
c.) 2% will be deducted from the total percentage obtained in the qualifying examination (B.A/B.Sc/B.Com Honours) for all candidates having passed their qualifying examination ( Part III Honours) in 2014 and 2013.
d.) Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination in 2012 and earlier years are not eligible to apply.
ii). For M.Ed. merit ( Subject code 30) list will be prepared based on both Career Marking and Entrance Test marks.
a. Career Marking
In Career Marking five components (i.e. aggregate marks obtained in 10th, 12th, Graduation (Hons), Post Graduation & B.Ed. will be proportionately evaluated in 50 marks by distributing 10 marks for each.
b. Entrance Test
Total marks obtained by the applicant in the entrance test will be added.
Based on the sum of total marks obtained in a&b final merit list shall be prepared keeping in view the reservation norms of the Government.
2% will be not be deducted from the total percentage in case of M.Ed. applicants who have passed their Masters in earlier Sessions.
iii) Admission Test will be conducted for PG courses ( Subject Codes 01-29) and M.F.A. for applicants from other Universities as well as applicants of Home University who do not secure admission in the Home University Category ( 60%).

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. As per West Bengal Govt. Rules, there shall be reservation of 60% seats in each Course for candidates who have Graduation with Honours in the respective subject from Home University ( Kalyani University) and 40% seats will be for candidates from other Universities as well as candidates from home university who do not figure in the 60% merit list.
2. ‘Students of the University of Kalyani’ means those candidates who have their qualifying degree ( B.A./B.Sc Honours etc.) from the University of Kalyani and have their latest registration under the University of Kalyani.3. Candidates in the 40% & and applicants for courses without 60-40 division shall have to appear for Admission Test conducted by the Kalyani University.
