WBSSC SRD of 2014 for 414 Vacancy - Admit Card, Syllabus, Scheme of Examination for Examination

West Bengal Staff Selection Commission has already accepted application from for Special Recruitment Drive of SC and ST Candidates. Application filled against various post those are Lower Division Clerks/Assistant, Bhumi Sahayak, Krishi Projukti Sahayak, Amin, Draftsman, Veterinary Officer. In the advertisement we got that the examination will be separate for Madhyamik (10th) level and Higher Secondary(10+2) level, but the Commission have changed the scheme of examination and declared the date of Examination so, please read this post to get more detailed information.

REVISED SCHEME & SYLLABUS FOR SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE (SRD) 2014 FOR SC & ST

As per decisions of the Commission  dated 21.11.2014, the Scheme of the Examination for the SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR SCHEDULED CASTES AND SCHEDULED TRIBES 2014 will be modified in the following manner:-

Scheme of Examination :

There will be one combined Preliminary Examination for all posts (Madhyamik level as well as Higher Secondary level posts) It will be a screening test. The Preliminary Examination will be held on 8 th February, 2015 (Sunday) Duration of the Examination shall be of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The examination shall carry 100 marks. There will be 100 multiple choice objective type questions of 1 (one) mark each. The questions will be on English (30 marks), General Studies (40 marks) and Arithmetic (30 marks). There will be Negative Marks of 0.25 per wrong answer. The commission will assess all the answer scripts of the Preliminary Examination and shortlist candidates, Post – wise, depending on the following three criteria: 1) Marks obtained by the candidates in the examination. 2) Option excercised by the candidates for Post(s) 3) Number of Existing vacancies in respective categories/sub categories. The shortlisted candidates applied for the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk / Assistant, Bhumi Sahayak and Amin shall have to appear in the Main Examinations. The Mains Examination shall consist of conventional type questions on 1) Group -A - English, and 2) Group-B – Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali carrying 50 marks each for Group – ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. The duration of the Examination shall be of 1 hour. Date of the Main Examinations will be announced later.

Note - I The Candidates who will take Hindi or Urdu or Nepali, as the case may be, in lieu of Bengali of the Group – B of Mains Examination shall, before confirmation, have to pass a Departmental Examination in Bengali during the period of probation. Note - II The standard for both Preliminary and Mains Examinations shall be similar to that of Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Final Merit list for the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk / Assistant, Bhumi Sahayak and Amin will be prepared, Post-wise and Category/ Sub Category wise on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in Preliminary and Mains Examination. Finally, Candidates for the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk / Assistant, Bhumi Sahayak and Amin will be shortlisted on the basis of their Merit and existing vacancies in respective categories. Shortlisted Candidates will be called for Document Verification.

The candidates shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination, for the posts of Draftsman, Veterinary Pharmacist / Pharmacistcum-Dresser and Krishi Prayukti Sahayak will be called separately for Document Verification followed by an Interview, while shortlisted candidates for the post of Deputy Ranger / Forester will be called for a Physical Fitness Test, followed by Document Verification and Interview.

Candidates for the post of Deputy Ranger / Forester qualified in the Physical Measurement Test shall only be allowed for Document Verification and to appear in the Interview.

Final Merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in Preliminary Examination and Interview.

Syllabus of Examination :

Syllabus for PRELIMINARY Examination ::

ENGLISH: Fundamentals of the English such as Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms and its correct usage, etc. GENERAL STUDIES: Matters of everyday observation including everyday science, current events and problems with special reference to India, Elementary knowledge of Indian History and Indian Geography. ARITHMETIC: Divisibility, Fractions, Decimals, Recurring Decimals, Simplification, H.C.F., L.C.M., Partnership, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Time and Distance, Area of Rectangle & Squares.

Syllabus for MAIN Examination ::

GROUP – A : ENGLISH : (a) Drafting of a report in English from points or materials supplied; (b) Condensing of a prose passage (summary or précis); (c) Translation from Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali, as the case may be, into English. GROUP – B : BENGALI/ HINDI/ URDU/ NEPALI : (a) Drafting of a report from points or materials supplied; (b) Condensing of a prose passage (summary or précis); (c) Translation from English into Bengali or Hindi or Urdu or Nepali, as the case may be.

How to get admit card for SRD 2014 of WBSSC ?

Admit Card for Preliminary Written Test will be despatched via post approximately after 15th of January 2015. Those whole would not get their admit card before 1 week of commencing the examination may download their admit card from online after 1st February, 2014 (01/02/2014).
